Plein Air outing to Romsey Allotments
Saffron Leppard
On Sunday 4th October we will be painting ‘En Plein Air’ at Romsey Town Council Allotments.
This is how our Plein Air events work.
The event is free to attend. You bring along whatever media suits you and appropriate clothing and materials for the weather and venue. You chose your own subject. We aim to pick venues where we expect there to be a good choice, something for everyone.
Often people end up clustering together but you can work alone – it’s entirely up to you. If you are a bit unsure you won’t be alone – it can be a bit daunting to come for the first time – I know I felt very self conscious to be around all these ‘proper’ artists! We will look after you.
The session starts at 10am at an agreed meeting point and we return at 12 midday to share our work and talk over the morning’s achievements in a ‘throw down’. Typically we stop for a coffee and maybe lunch at a nearby venue – that’s entirely optional
Details for this meet up
There is limited parking at the Romsey Town Council allotments. Please do not drive to the allotments but park at Romsey Rapids which is free on a Sunday, address and postcode is Southampton Road, Romsey, SO51 8AF. Its no more than a 5 minute walk to the location. Use the zebra crossing and turn right. Do not go to the first allotments directly opposite the Rapids , you need to keep going a little further along to the one that is opposite the skate park as this is the one that has given us authority to use the site on that day.
Once we have finished we will return to the Rapids for our throwdown and coffee upstairs at Costa.
We look forward to seeing you. Should anyone want a lift on the day please ask
